Alpine Ascents Team Everest travels part way into the Khumbu icefall

Hello Everyone,

Today after another great breakfast, the team made its first climb into the infamous Khumbu icefall. We climbed, travelled by fixed line and crossed our first ladders as we ascended around 600ft. Everyone did a great job getting use to using the fixed lines and working out the kinks in our gear. After arriving back at camp we had lunch and then began packing up our snack food for the next 4 days as we will climb to Camp 1 and then to Camp 2. (See pic below for the assortment of snack food we have).

Starting tomorrow morning at 3am Nepal time we will wake up, have breakfast, and head into the Icefall at 4am. We will spend two nights at Camp 1 at 19,200ft and two nights at Camp 2 at 21,300ft before heading back down to basecamp finishing our first rotation.

We are doing great and excited to head up on the mountain. Stay tuned.....
